
MISSISSIPPI — Four people were arrested and drugs and firearms were seized during a law enforcement operation in Ellisville on Monday, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities said a search warrant was executed at a residence on East Oak Street following community complaints and a lengthy investigation by narcotics agents.
During the search, investigators reported finding approximately 6.4 ounces (181 grams) of methamphetamine, 14 grams of powder cocaine and 22 dosage units of ecstasy. Deputies also recovered two firearms, one of which had been reported stolen out of Laurel.
Those arrested were identified as Brandon Barnes, 41, who faces charges including trafficking methamphetamine and possession of controlled substances; Elizabeth Garcia, who is charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of a stolen firearm; Desmond Evans, 32, charged with possession of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm; and Bridgette Jefcoat, 45, who was arrested on a Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
