41 people arrested following drug bust in Arizona

ARIZONA — State troopers arrested 41 people and seized drugs and weapons during a criminal interdiction operation in Tucson and Phoenix, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Highway Patrol troopers participated in the operation May 13 as part of Operation Desert Guardian.

Authorities said those arrested included people wanted on outstanding warrants as well as suspects facing drug and weapons charges.

Investigators reported seizing fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine during the operation, along with multiple firearms.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said Operation Desert Guardian is a multi-agency effort focused on combating crimes including human trafficking, drug trafficking, weapons trafficking and impaired driving offenses across Arizona.
