OHIO — A 24-year-old man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting outside a downtown Cleveland bar has been arrested, according to the U.S. Marshals.
Deshon Baker was taken into custody Thursday morning by members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) at a home on Sidney Drive in Euclid.
Baker was wanted for the shooting death of Simajah Harris, 24, following an alleged altercation near the Frozen Daiquiri Bar & Restaurant on December 28, 2024.
Cleveland police responded to the bar at 721 Bolivar Road that night but did not locate a victim.
Officers later learned that Harris had been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Investigators determined Harris had been in a physical altercation with a male suspect, which escalated into gunfire. Harris was shot multiple times and later died at MetroHealth Hospital.
Authorities identified Baker as a suspect in the days following the shooting, leading to a warrant for aggravated murder.
His arrest on Thursday morning brings an end to the weeks-long search.
A few weeks after the shooting, the Frozen Daiquiri Bar announced on social media that it would be closing, with its last Saturday of business on January 18.
Baker remains in custody as the case moves forward.
