INDIANA — A man and a woman were found dead Tuesday evening in what police believe was an apparent murder-suicide on the city’s near northwest side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers responded around 6 p.m. to a report of a possible suicide in the 1200 block of West Congress Avenue, near West 30th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
When officers arrived, they found a man outside the home who was later identified as 51-year-old Rafael Rosado Roman. He was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted injury, police said.
Investigators learned there was also a woman who lived at the residence, but officers initially had difficulty making contact with her. After entering the home, police said they found the woman unresponsive inside. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities believe the incident was isolated and said all individuals involved have been accounted for.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the exact causes and manners of death.
