TEXAS — Two people were arrested on drug charges after Laredo police found suspected narcotics during an investigation on McPherson Road, according to authorities.

Officers responded around 2:16 p.m. June 10 to the 5200 block of McPherson Road after receiving a report of a man exposing himself near a food establishment.

Police located a 2026 Kia K4 and identified the occupants as 30-year-old Armando Bustamante Jr. and 23-year-old Yesenia Senaida Espinoza.

During the investigation, officers observed a folded dollar bill containing a white powdery substance inside the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered additional white powder and drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Authorities said Bustamante later admitted to urinating near the business. Before he was transported to jail, officers conducted a secondary search and allegedly found another dollar bill containing a white powdery substance concealed in his wallet.

During the booking process, police said suspected narcotics were also found on Espinoza.

Bustamante and Espinoza were booked into the Webb County Jail and each charged with possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1 under one gram, a state jail felony.

Jail records showed Friday morning that Bustamante was being held on a $10,000 bond, while Espinoza’s bond was set at $7,000. The investigation remains ongoing.
