MICHIGAN — Two men are facing multiple charges after authorities say they broke into several vehicles and stole items in St. Clair County.
According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, Armani Greathouse, 19, and Jaydon Comstock, 20, were arrested in connection with a series of thefts reported in the Old Farms subdivision in Fort Gratiot Township.
Deputies said the incidents involved multiple vehicle break-ins and stolen property.
Authorities reported that around 1 a.m. on May 1, deputies located the suspects’ vehicle unoccupied near Capital Avenue and State Road. Two men matching the suspects’ descriptions were later spotted walking nearby.
The sheriff’s office said the men refused commands to stop but were eventually detained.
During the investigation, deputies recovered a ski mask, cash, a Bridge Card and prescription pills that investigators said did not belong to either suspect.
Port Huron police later confirmed Greathouse and Comstock were connected to the original vehicle theft reports, according to authorities.
Both men were taken to the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center.
Greathouse and Comstock each face one count of breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property valued over $1,000, one count of unlawful driving away of an automobile, two counts of stealing a financial transaction device without consent, one count of resisting and obstructing police, and seven counts of breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property valued under $200.
The pair were arraigned May 7, and bond for each defendant was set at $75,000.
