OHIO — A woman and two children were seriously injured, one critically, in a crash Sunday afternoon in south Toledo that police believe may have involved alcohol or drugs.

According to Toledo police, the collision occurred around 5 p.m. on the Anthony Wayne Trail near Glendale Avenue. Investigators say a 34-year-old man from Carleton, Michigan, was driving a truck southbound when he ran a red light and collided head-on with another truck that was turning northbound onto the trail.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 35-year-old woman from Clinton Township, Michigan, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. A 12-year-old passenger in the vehicle was also hospitalized with serious injuries, while a 15-year-old passenger suffered injuries considered life-threatening.

The driver of the southbound truck was transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries, along with a 4-year-old passenger.

Police said alcohol and/or drugs are suspected factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
