Three people injured following dog attack in Ohio

OHIO — Three people suffered severe injuries following a dog attack in south Toledo early Thursday morning, according to Toledo police.

Police said officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Colima Drive around 2:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a dog attack.

According to a police report, officers arriving at the scene found three people suffering from what were described as “severe injuries.” Police said the dog was still attacking one of the residents when officers arrived.

Authorities said officers ultimately dispatched the dog at the scene.

Two of the injured individuals were transported to a hospital by Toledo Fire and Rescue crews, while a third person declined medical treatment, according to police.

Lucas County Canine Care and Control also responded to the incident.

Additional details about the victims and the circumstances leading up to the attack were not immediately released. Toledo police said the investigation remains ongoing.
