MISSOURI — Three people were killed Friday night in a multi-vehicle crash in St. Louis, according to authorities.
The crash occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Lewis and Clark Boulevard and involved three vehicles, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
Investigators said the incident began when one vehicle sideswiped a second vehicle. The impact caused the second vehicle to cross into oncoming traffic, where it was struck on the right side by a third vehicle. The second vehicle then overturned as a result of the collision.
The first vehicle left the roadway and crashed into trees.
Officials said three people were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The victims include a 53-year-old woman who was driving the second vehicle, an 18-year-old passenger in that same vehicle, and a 28-year-old woman who was driving the third vehicle.
No additional information about the victims or possible contributing factors has been released. The crash remains under investigation.
