Thousands without power in Ohio

OHIO — Thousands of homes and businesses across Ohio are without power as of Saturday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the most recent update, 5,387 customers were reported without electricity statewide, representing about 0.1% of the more than 5.4 million customers tracked.

The majority of outages are concentrated in northeastern Ohio. Cuyahoga County has the highest number, with 3,770 customers without power. Stark County follows with 925 outages, while smaller numbers have been reported in Montgomery County (187), Lucas County (113), Portage County (51), Fairfield County (41), Fulton County (36), and Lake County (36).

Utility providers are also reporting impacts across the state. Cleveland Public Power accounts for the largest share, with more than 3,400 customers affected. FirstEnergy reports over 1,500 outages, while AES Ohio and American Electric Power Ohio report smaller numbers of customers without service.

Ohio ranks among the states with the highest number of outages nationwide.

Restoration efforts are ongoing, and no timeline has been provided for when all outages will be resolved. Residents are urged to report outages to their utility providers and avoid downed power lines.
