
MICHIGAN — More than 5,700 homes and businesses across Michigan are currently without electricity Sunday morning, according to the latest outage data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 5,723 customers statewide are without power, representing about 0.11% of the more than 5 million customers tracked across the state.
Michigan currently has the sixth-highest number of power outages in the United States and ranks 10th nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Kent County is reporting the largest number of outages in the state, with 2,552 customers currently without electricity. Marquette County follows with 1,417 outages, while Macomb County is reporting 1,038. Other counties with notable outages include Wayne County with 126 customers without power, Oakland County with 68, Washtenaw County with 56, Baraga County with 53 and Calhoun County with 37.
Among utility providers, Consumers Energy is reporting the largest number of outages, with 2,677 customers currently without service. DTE Energy is reporting 1,541 outages, while Marquette Board of Light and Power has 1,417 customers without electricity. Ontonagon County REA reports 66 outages and Traverse City Light & Power has 11.
Utility crews continue working to restore service across affected areas. Outage totals remain current and are expected to change throughout the day as restoration efforts continue and new outage reports are received.
