
ALABAMA — More than 4,200 customers across Alabama are currently without electricity Wednesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 4,235 customers are without power statewide out of more than 2.6 million tracked customers. Alabama currently ranks fourth in the nation for both the total number of outages and the percentage of customers affected.
Calhoun County is reporting the largest number of outages in the state, with 3,024 customers currently without power. Jefferson County follows with 337 outages, while Shelby County has 290 customers affected. Chilton County is reporting 174 outages, Bibb County has 121, Tuscaloosa County has 68, Talladega County has 46 and Baldwin County has 23.
Among utility providers, Alabama Power is reporting the largest number of affected customers, with 4,112 outages. Sylacauga City Electric is reporting 45 customers without service, while Cherokee Electric Cooperative has 24 outages and Baldwin EMC Cooperative has 17.
Calhoun County is also the hardest-hit county in the state by percentage, with 5.07% of tracked customers currently without power.
Utility crews continue working to restore service as outages remain active across Alabama Wednesday morning.
