OHIO — Emergency crews are searching for a missing kayaker on the Ohio River in Clermont County after a water incident Thursday afternoon.
According to local officials, crews were called to the Ohio River near U.S. Route 52 in New Richmond around 4:30 p.m.
Authorities said two kayakers were on the river when they went underwater. One of the kayakers was able to resurface, but the other has not been located.
A dive team was called to the scene to assist with the search effort.
Emergency responders remained on the river Thursday evening as the search continued.
Officials have not released the identity of the missing kayaker, and no additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident were immediately available.
The search remains ongoing.
