GEORGIA — A vehicle fire has shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Richmond Hill on Thursday morning, causing significant traffic delays.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the incident occurred at State Road 25/U.S. 17, also known as Ocean Highway. Officials said the fire began around 8:20 a.m. and is expected to impact traffic until at least 10:20 a.m.
Traffic maps from GDOT shows major backups in the area as crews worked to respond to the scene and clear the roadway.
No additional details about injuries or the cause of the fire were immediately released.
