Part of I-695 in Maryland shut down following vehicle crash

MARYLAND — A crash involving a fuel leak has shut down the right lane on Interstate 695 in Baltimore County Wednesday morning, causing significant traffic delays near Cromwell Bridge Road.

According to the Maryland State Highway Administration, the crash happened on the inner loop of I-695 near Exit 29A at Cromwell Bridge Road. Officials said the incident caused a fuel leak, prompting an extended closure while crews respond to the scene.

Heavy-duty wreckers were dispatched to assist, and traffic backups had already stretched about half a mile as of Wednesday morning.

The right lane remains closed at this time, and motorists are being urged to expect delays in the area and seek alternate routes if possible.
