VIRGINIA — A multi-vehicle crash has caused significant traffic delays Monday morning along Interstate 64 in Norfolk, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The crash occurred on I-64 near Tidewater Drive. Officials reported that the westbound left shoulder, left lane and center lane are closed as crews respond to the scene.
Traffic backups stretched for approximately five miles, creating delays for morning commuters traveling through the area.
Authorities have not said how many vehicles were involved or whether there were any injuries.
Drivers are urged to use caution, consider alternate routes and allow extra travel time as the situation continues to develop.
