FLORIDA — Police activity has disrupted traffic on the Howard Frankland Bridge heading into Tampa on Friday morning, authorities said.

According to officials, law enforcement responded around 6:15 a.m. to the northbound lanes of Interstate 275 near the Hillsborough County side of the bridge. The response led to lane closures and significant delays for commuters traveling into Tampa.

As of 10:45 a.m., one left lane remains blocked while crews continued to manage the situation.

Authorities have not released details on what prompted the police response, and the incident remains under investigation.

The situation is ongoing, and updates are expected as more information becomes available.
