OHIO — Police are searching for a suspect after a security guard was shot late Saturday night in Columbus’ Short North district.
According to police, officers responded just after 10:30 p.m. to the 1000 block of North High Street.
Investigators said staff at a nightclub in the area caught a man attempting to break into a vehicle. When a security guard confronted the suspect, the man shot the guard and fled the scene.
The security guard was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. Police said the victim was listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made. Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation remains ongoing.
