
GEORGIA — The Tybee Island Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist that occurred early Tuesday morning.
According to police, officers responded around 8:05 a.m. to the area of Highway 80 and Miller Avenue after receiving a report of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle.
The injured bicyclist was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released details about the extent of the injuries.
Investigators said they were able to use license plate reader technology and available camera footage to identify the suspect vehicle. The suspect has since been located and placed under arrest.
Police are asking anyone with additional information about the incident to contact the Tybee Island Police Department.
The investigation remains ongoing.
