One person injured following shooting incident in Indiana

INDIANA — A man is in critical condition after a shooting on the city’s near north side Sunday night, according to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said officers responded just after 11 p.m. April 19 to the 2500 block of North College Avenue, near East 25th Street, on a report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they located a crime scene but did not find a victim at the location.

Shortly afterward, investigators said a walk-in victim connected to the incident arrived at IU Health Methodist Hospital with gunshot injuries.

Police said the victim, identified as a man, was listed in critical but stable condition.

Authorities said one person was detained at the scene but later released pending further investigation. Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
