ILLINOIS — A 17-year-old boy was critically wounded in a shooting on Chicago’s West Side early Wednesday morning, according to police.
The shooting happened around 12:35 a.m. in the 5400 block of West End Avenue.
Police said officers responded to an apartment building and found the teen lying on a bed with gunshot wounds to the chest and back. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
No arrests have been announced, and additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately released.
Area Four detectives are investigating.
