
PENNSYLVANIA — A Penn State student was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning in State College, according to police.
The incident occurred just after 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Beaver Avenue and South Gill Street. Authorities say the student was struck by a vehicle under circumstances that remain under investigation.
Emergency responders transported the victim from the scene, and the student was later life-flighted to UPMC Williamsport for treatment. Officials have not released the victim’s identity or current condition.
State College Police, along with Pennsylvania State Police, were able to locate the vehicle and the suspected driver involved in the crash. Charges are pending against a 19-year-old suspect.
Investigators have not yet determined what led up to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
