INDIANA — A woman was found dead and a man was critically injured following a disturbance at an apartment on Fort Wayne’s southeast side Monday afternoon, according to police.
Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were called to the 7900 block of Decatur Road just before 3 p.m. on reports of a disturbance in a neighboring apartment.
When officers arrived, they found a woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. A man was also located and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said it remains unclear what led to the incident or what happened inside the apartment. Investigators have not confirmed the relationship between the two individuals.
Police said they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office will release the woman’s identity and cause of death at a later time.
