ILLINOIS — A death investigation is underway after a man was found dead inside a garbage container on Chicago’s West Side Saturday afternoon.
According to police, officers responded to the 4700 block of West Arthington Street in the Lawndale neighborhood shortly after 1:30 p.m. after receiving reports of an unresponsive person.
Police said a male of an unknown age was discovered inside a garbage container. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the circumstances surrounding the man’s death were not immediately clear, and his identity had not been released as of Saturday evening.
Area detectives are conducting an ongoing death investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
