MINNESOTA — St. Paul police are investigating two separate crashes Tuesday night that left one person dead and another seriously injured, according to authorities.

Police said the first crash happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Seventh Street West and Watson Avenue.

Investigators said a man was crossing Seventh Street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

About an hour later, officers responded to a second crash in the 700 block of Jessamine Avenue.

According to police, a man riding an e-bike ran a stop sign and was struck by a vehicle.

The e-bike rider was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition, police said.

Authorities said the driver involved in the second crash also stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

No names have been released, and both crashes remain under investigation.
