
OHIO — A Sandusky man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that left one person dead Sunday afternoon, according to the Sandusky Police Department.
Officers responded around 3 p.m. Sunday to the 1500 block of Pearl Street after receiving reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Firelands Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim later died from his injuries, police said. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Investigators later arrested 28-year-old Tyler M. Cohen of Sandusky in connection with the shooting. He is currently being held in the Erie County Jail.
Police have not released additional details about the circumstances that led to the shooting.
“This remains an active investigation,” Sandusky Police Chief Jared Oliver said in a statement.
