GEORGIA — One person is dead after a rollover crash on Interstate 85 in Atlanta Tuesday morning, according to authorities.
The crash happened on the northbound express lanes of I-85 near the Buford-Spring Connector shortly after 6 a.m.
Atlanta Fire Rescue crews arrived within minutes and found an overturned vehicle with one person trapped inside, officials said.
Firefighters worked to remove the driver from the wreckage, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.
Authorities said at least two right lanes remained closed during the morning commute as crews continued working at the scene.
