One person dead following vehicle crash on I-75 in Ohio

OHIO — One person is dead and another was injured after a crash that shut down a portion of Interstate 75 in Cincinnati early Sunday morning.

According to Cincinnati police, officers responded around 2:27 a.m. to northbound I-75 near Hopple Street following reports of a serious crash.

When officers arrived, they found two people at the scene. One person was pronounced dead, while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken for medical treatment.

Police said the department’s Traffic Unit responded to investigate the crash. Authorities have not released the identity of the person who died pending notification of family members.

Northbound lanes of I-75 near Hopple Street remain closed as investigators work to determine what led to the crash. Traffic has been diverted from the interstate, causing delays for motorists traveling through the area.

Officials have not released additional details about the vehicles involved or the circumstances surrounding the crash.
