ILLINOIS — One person was killed and three others were injured after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 74 in Morton early Thursday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-74 near mile marker 102 in Morton.
State police said one person died in the crash, while three other people suffered injuries. Authorities have not released the identities of those involved.
Officials said one westbound lane remains closed following the crash. All eastbound traffic is being directed off the interstate at North Morton Avenue before being routed back onto I-74.
No additional information about the cause of the crash or the extent of the injuries has been released.
Illinois State Police continue to investigate the crash.
