OHIO — A woman died after her car crashed into a pond Saturday night near Powell, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers were called around 11:02 p.m. to the area of Community Way and Harmony Lane in Delaware County on a report of a single-vehicle crash.
Authorities said witnesses reported a woman driving the wrong way at a high rate of speed before the crash. Investigators said the vehicle became erratic, struck signs in a roundabout and hit two curbs before going airborne and landing in a pond.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Officials have not released the woman’s identity, and additional details were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
