
OHIO — A Trotwood woman was killed and a driver critically injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon at a Montgomery County intersection, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 3:48 p.m. at the intersection of Hoke and Westbrook roads in Clayton.
Troopers said 83-year-old John Huston of Trotwood was driving a 2023 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Hoke Road when he failed to yield the right of way. His vehicle was then struck by a westbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 39-year-old Cody Ritter of Greenville.
A passenger in Huston’s vehicle, identified as 79-year-old Joya Hill of Trotwood, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where she later died.
Huston was also taken to Miami Valley Hospital with injuries described as serious and life-threatening, authorities said.
Ritter was transported to Miami Valley North with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in his truck was also taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours as emergency crews from multiple agencies responded and cleared the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
