NEW JERSEY — One driver was killed in a late-night crash involving two vehicles in Elizabeth, according to police.
The crash occurred around 11:42 p.m. Tuesday on Elizabeth Avenue, according to a spokesperson for the Elizabeth Police Department.
Authorities said the driver of one of the vehicles died as a result of the collision. The victim was the sole occupant of that vehicle.
The second vehicle involved in the crash was occupied by two people, who remained at the scene, police said.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
Elizabeth Avenue, where the crash occurred, is a heavily traveled roadway located near the Elizabeth Police Department and the Union County Courthouse.
The incident remains under investigation.
