MARYLAND — One person is dead and another was injured following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Fort Washington, according to authorities.
Police with the Prince George’s County Police Department said the crash happened around 10:10 p.m. on Indian Head Highway near Palmer Road.
Officials said the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated before being transported to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities closed the northbound lanes of Indian Head Highway overnight while crews investigated the crash. All lanes were reopened by about 5 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
