LOUISIANA — A Jackson Parish man was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 4, according to Louisiana State Police.
Troopers said the crash happened around 7 a.m. when a 2020 Ram 1500 driven by 59-year-old Monte Faulkner of Chatham was traveling east on the highway.
The initial investigation found that a 2024 Mack commercial vehicle was traveling west when, for reasons still under investigation, the Ram crossed the center line and collided head-on with the Mack in the westbound lane.
State police said Faulkner was properly restrained but suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the Mack was also properly restrained and was not injured, troopers said.
Routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis as part of the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop F.
