INDIANA — One person was killed and another injured in a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon in LaPorte County, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the crash happened around 4 p.m. on State Road 39 and involved a red 2013 Hyundai Sonata and a gray 2015 Jeep Wrangler.
Investigators said the Hyundai was traveling northbound on S.R. 39 when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with the southbound Jeep.
The 41-year-old driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The victim’s identity has not been released.
According to deputies, the 23-year-old driver of the Jeep suffered a lower body injury.
The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office said toxicology test results are pending as the investigation continues.
