INDIANA — A woman was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a head-on crash involving two Jeeps in Grant County, Indiana, late Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, first responders were called to the area of County Road 450 North and County Road 5800 East, just north of the community of Landess, for reports of a two-vehicle crash.

When emergency crews arrived, they found three people injured. Authorities said 55-year-old Sandra Rochelle Beouy of Marion was critically hurt, and medical personnel attempted lifesaving measures at the scene. She was later pronounced dead from her injuries.

The two drivers involved in the crash were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators said a preliminary investigation found a 2025 Jeep traveling east on County Road 450 North attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. The Jeep crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a westbound 2025 Jeep.

Beouy was a passenger in the westbound Jeep, according to investigators.

Indiana State Police assisted with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.
