ILLINOIS — The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Tuesday in rural Forreston.
According to authorities, deputies responded around 11:41 a.m. to the intersection of Springdale Road and Illinois Route 64.
Investigators said a Buick driven by 90-year-old Darlene Brooks was traveling east when it entered the intersection and collided with a semi truck and trailer traveling south. The semi was driven by 67-year-old Stephen Norup.
The Ogle County Coroner’s Office said Brooks suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said Norup was not injured in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
