TEXAS — Authorities are investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy who died after suffering a gunshot wound in Zavala County, officials said.
According to the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence in La Pryor on Sunday after receiving a report involving the child. The boy was later airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio, where he died from his injuries.
Officials have not released the child’s name.
No arrests or charges have been announced as of Sunday evening. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
The sheriff’s office said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
