TENNESSEE — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting with an investigation after a deadly shooting in Pickett County this week.
According to the TBI, the shooting was reported Wednesday, May 27, in the 1000 block of Parker Road.
Officials said deputies with the Pickett County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene and found a person suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to a hospital and later pronounced dead, authorities said.
TBI agents are assisting in the investigation at the request of 13th Judicial District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway.
No additional information was immediately released as the investigation remains ongoing.
