NORTH CAROLINA — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Monday morning at a local apartment complex.
According to the Kinston Police Department, officers responded around 12:57 a.m. on April 27 to a report of a gunshot wound at Building 12 of Carver Courts.
When officers arrived, they found 36-year-old Charles Wade Jr., of Kinston, suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said officers immediately began life-saving efforts, but Wade died at the scene from his injuries.
The investigation remains active, and detectives say they are continuing to follow up on leads. No additional details have been released at this time.
