GEORGIA — A woman is facing murder charges after a man was fatally shot during an altercation on a LaGrange street Monday night, according to police.
The incident happened around 10:40 p.m. on the 300 block of Dix Street, a residential area in LaGrange. Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found 26-year-old Keontavious Bailey lying unresponsive in the roadway.
Bailey was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said their investigation indicates Bailey and 31-year-old Telneschia Jones were involved in a physical fight when Jones allegedly shot him.
Jones was taken into custody and charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She was booked into the Troup County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the altercation.
