SOUTH CAROLINA — All lanes on Clements Ferry Road have reopened following a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer Thursday morning, according to the Charleston Police Department.
Police said the collision occurred near Marina Drive toward Highway 41, close to Interstate 526. The crash prompted the closure of both lanes as emergency crews responded to the scene.
Authorities reported traffic backups on I-526 in both eastbound and westbound directions near the Clements Ferry interchange as a result of the crash.
At the scene, traffic was directed to merge around debris in the roadway while crews worked.
Officials have not released the identity of the person killed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
