GEORGIA — A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening in a single-vehicle crash near the Bulloch-Evans county line, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 7:55 p.m. on Georgia Highway 73 near Old Ephesus Church Road in Bulloch County.
A preliminary investigation found the motorcycle was traveling north when the rider lost control while negotiating a curve. Investigators said the motorcycle was traveling too fast for conditions, causing it to leave the roadway onto the east shoulder and strike several trees.
Authorities said the rider was thrown from the motorcycle during the crash.
Witnesses who came upon the scene found the motorcyclist unresponsive and began CPR before emergency responders arrived. Despite those efforts, the rider died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate the fatal crash.
