FLORIDA — Tampa police are searching for a driver following a deadly hit-and-run that left a man dead early Sunday morning.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded to a local hospital shortly after 5 a.m. after receiving reports that a man in his early 40s had been brought in after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of North Armenia Avenue and East Hamilton Avenue.
Investigators said the victim suffered serious injuries and later died at the hospital.
Police are continuing to gather evidence and are seeking to speak with the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident. Authorities said they want to determine “what, if anything, they may know about the incident.”
The crash remains under investigation.
