LOUISIANA — One person is dead following a head-on collision involving a log truck in Iberville Parish on Thursday, according to authorities.
The crash happened around 11:15 a.m. on April 16 along Highway 77, just north of Horseshoe Bend Road.
Officials with the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office said a passenger vehicle and a log truck collided head-on. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the log truck sustained moderate to serious injuries, officials said.
Louisiana State Police responded to assist with the investigation.
As of about 2 p.m., the roadway remained closed and was expected to stay shut down for several hours while crews worked the scene.
The identity of the person killed has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
