SOUTH CAROLINA — One person died Saturday night following a head-on collision involving two dirt bikes in Marlboro County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. on Gravel Pit Road. Troopers said a 2013 dirt bike traveling west collided head-on with a 2003 dirt bike traveling east.
The driver of the 2003 dirt bike was taken by EMS to a local hospital for treatment. The other driver died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
