
MINNESOTA — One person was killed and three others were injured Monday evening following a boat crash on Lake Vermilion in northern Minnesota.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, rescue crews responded to the scene after reports that several people had been thrown into the water during a crash near Manbeck Island in Beatty Township.
Authorities said three people were taken from the scene by ambulance. One of the injured victims was later airlifted to a hospital in Duluth for further treatment.
A fourth person was pronounced dead at the scene after life-saving efforts by medical personnel were unsuccessful. Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
