OKLAHOMA — A 17-year-old driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Cherokee County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on State Highway 100, OHP said.
Investigators reported that the vehicle left the roadway, traveled up an embankment and struck a tree. After the collision, the vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof.
Authorities said the teen was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash. No other passengers were involved.
According to OHP, the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
The identity of the victim has not been released. The crash remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
