
SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was killed Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash in Newberry County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Lance Corporal Brittany Glover said the crash happened around 10 p.m. on Macedonia Church Road near Long Road outside of Prosperity.
Authorities said a 2005 Toyota Camry was traveling south on Macedonia Church Road when it went off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree and then hit a power pole.
The driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, died at the scene.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
