KENTUCKY — A woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Owensboro, according to police.
The Owensboro Police Department said officers were called just after 8 p.m. on April 18 to the 2800 block of JR Miller Boulevard for a reported crash.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a Chrysler Pacifica van, driven by an adult woman, was traveling southbound when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole and a tree. The impact caused the tree to fall and blocked the roadway for several hours.
The driver, identified by the Daviess County Coroner’s Office as 34-year-old Tina Brooks, was the only occupant of the vehicle. She was extricated from the wreckage by the Owensboro Fire Department and transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
